Difference between flat welding flange and butt welding flange:
1. The weld forms are different: the flat welded weld cannot be detected by radiographic inspection, while the butt welded weld can; Flat welding is two fillet circumferential welds, and butt welding is a butt circumferential weld.
2. The nominal pressure is different: the nominal pressure of the neck flat welding flange is 0.6-4.0mpa, while the nominal pressure of the neck butt welding flange is 1-25mpa. Obviously, the pressure grade of the neck flat welding flange is lower.
3. The connection methods are different: generally, the flat welding flange can only be connected with the pipe, and cannot be directly connected with the butt welding pipe fittings; Butt welding flanges can generally be directly connected with all butt welding pipe fittings (including elbows, tees, reducers, etc.), including pipes.
Flange connection is convenient to use and can bear large pressure. Flange connection is widely used in industrial pipelines. In this series, the pipe diameter is small and the pressure is low, so the flange connection cannot be seen. If you are in the boiler room or production site, there are flange pipes and equipment everywhere.
Generally speaking, the function of flange is to fix and seal the connection of pipe fittings.
